Laura DiNello
As a self-taught artist, Laura's signature style emerged from an explosive argument with her second husband, three days after their wedding. DiNello created a celebratory wedding painting to mark the 1989 event, and during the fight she cut the canvas up into pieces.
After things calmed down, she tried to fix the painting by experimenting with different glues and epoxies to put it back together. The result was a mosaicked canvas. The depth and layers of colors and nuance that mosaic tiling brought to her work became a representation of the manic love found in her art.
Laura DiNello is based in Charleston, South Carolina. Her work can be found in private collections all over the world. The Kessler Grand Bohemian Hotel in Orlando, Florida, holds one of a largest permanent collections of her work in the hotel.
