The essence of Michael's work lies in the contrast and interaction between the black mark and the background surface. Any perceived influences in his art are entirely subconscious, as each form emerges spontaneously without prior preparation or deliberation. This process ensures that every piece is unique in two senses: no two works are alike, and each one elicits a distinctly personal visual association for the viewer.

To further encourage individual interpretation, Michael titles each piece with a “fake” word, allowing viewers to form their own perceptions of what they see. His art invites you to engage with it on a personal level, discovering your own meanings and connections within each work.
