Paul Cézanne
Painted near the end of his lifetime, Sous-Bois (Undergrowth) exhibits Cézanne's more abstract style in contrast to a work such as Farm at Montgeroult. The artist creates the majority of this landscape by painting small sections in single colors, which perfectly captures the sensation of looking out into the woods as leaves blown by a breeze scatter sunlight on the forest floor.
