House of Cards Notecard
Marilyn da Silva
Contemporary artist Marilyn da Silva has described her sculptures as three-dimensional drawings, with a rich color palette created by her use of gesso and colored pencils. This piece focuses on the fragility of life, partly in response to the tragic events of 9/11. From the breakable eggs to the precariously balanced structure protecting them, da Silva captures the moment before the house of cards comes tumbling down, or perhaps holds strong. Commemorate your visit to AMFA with this unique card!
