Dowd House Studios combines the artwork of Sam and Jenny Dowd. Trained in ceramics, both are potters and sculptors. Sam finds inspiration in the quirky forms of nature while Jenny seeks to distill the complexities of society into lines and patterns. Somewhat the reverse of sgraffito, the underglaze is inlaid into the clay, leaving a thin black line. Sometimes Jenny combines the two techniques. No two dishes are exactly alike. The one that you receive will be different than what is pictured.
