Albrecht Dürer
Born in the second half of the fifteenth century, Dürer was a German printmaker and painter. After spending time in Italy learning at the heart of the Renaissance, Dürer brought this newfound knowledge home and became a central figure in the Northern Renaissance. His Last Supper is a perfect example of the artist's skill regarding lifelike human proportions and dynamic interactions between figures. An eagle eyed viewer will notice the artist's initials and date of the piece in the lower right hand corner.
